Momo Recipe

Ingredients

  • For the dough:
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 cup warm water
  • For the filling:
  • 1 lb ground meat (chicken, pork, buff, beef or any according to your choice)
  • 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • 1 cup finely chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons minced ginger
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the oil and mix well.
  2. Gradually add warm water to the mixture, mixing it thoroughly until it forms a smooth dough.
  3. Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for at least 30 minutes.
  4. In a separate mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, chopped cabbage, onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, oil, salt, and pepper.
  5. Mix the filling ingredients well until everything is well combined.
  6. Take a small portion of the dough and roll it out into a thin circle using a rolling pin.
  7. Place a spoonful of the filling in the center of the circle.
  8. Gather the edges of the circle, pinching and twisting them together to seal the filling inside.
  9. Repeat the process until all the dough and filling are used up.
  10. Heat a steamer and place the momos in the steamer basket, leaving enough space between them.
  11. Steam the momos for 10-12 minutes or until they are cooked through.
  12. Serve hot with tomato or chili sauce.
